MEMBERSHIP RULE BOOK

Digital Media Journalist & Content Creator Association (DMJCCA)

Chapter 1

1. Introduction & Scope

The Membership of the All India Digital Media Journalist & Content Creator Association (DMJCCA) is intended to build a professional national network of Digital Journalists, Social Media Journalists, Content Creators, and Digital Media Professionals.

Membership provides professional recognition, networking opportunities, learning resources, and participation in the Association’s activities. Membership does not confer any statutory authority, policing powers, or government accreditation.

Chapter 2

2. Eligibility Criteria

The following professionals, creators, and institutions engaged in the digital media ecosystem may apply for membership:

  • YouTubers & Podcasters

Note: Applicants must ordinarily be 18 years or older, except for Student Membership where specific institutional rules apply.

Chapter 3

3. Membership Categories

1. Founder MemberReserved exclusively for the Founders and Signatories of the Association.
2. National Executive MemberFor elected or appointed National Office Bearers of DMJCCA.
3. State Executive MemberFor designated leaders in State Chapters and State Committees.
4. District Executive MemberFor District level committee office bearers and regional coordinators.
5. City Executive MemberFor municipal and city-level operational representatives.
6. Professional MemberStandard membership for active working digital journalists and content creators.
7. Student MemberFor students pursuing journalism, mass communication, or digital media disciplines.
8. Institutional MemberFor registered media portals, production houses, agencies, and educational bodies.
9. Honorary MemberConferred upon distinguished personalities by the National Executive Council.
10. Life MemberConferred subject to prescribed lifetime fee payment and council vetting.

4. Membership Rights & Responsibilities

4.1 Rights of Members

  • Receive official digital Membership Certificate and ID Card.
  • Participate in national assemblies, programs, seminars, and masterclasses.
  • Access the centralized online Member Portal and verified resource repository.
  • Apply for special internal committees and working groups.
  • Vote and contest elections where eligible under constitutional tenure rules.

4.2 Core Responsibilities

  • Follow the Association Constitution, Bylaws, and Code of Ethics strictly.
  • Maintain high standards of factual integrity and avoid spreading unverified rumors.
  • Protect and advance the professional reputation of the digital media community.
  • Promptly report profile changes and respect all office bearers and fellow members.

Chapter 6, 7 & 8

5. Registration, Documents & Verification

Registration Procedure: Applicants must register on the official portal, complete mobile OTP & email verification, fill personal and work details, upload necessary proofs, and accept the statutory declaration.

Required Documents: Passport-size photograph, Government Identity Proof (Voter ID / Driving Licence / Passport / Govt Recognized ID), Address Proof, active Social Media/Channel/Website URLs, and Work Portfolios.

Verification Audit: Applications undergo identity, technical, and portfolio audits. The Association reserves full right to accept or reject any application to maintain institutional integrity.

6. Credentials, Fees, Renewal & Upgrade

  • ID Card & Certificate: Approved members receive digital credentials with a unique ID number, QR code verification link, and authorized digital signatures.
  • Fees & Structure: Prescribed periodically by the National Executive Council. Promotional or student subsidies may apply.
  • Renewal: Annual membership requires renewal prior to expiration. Non-renewal leads to profile deactivation.
  • Category Upgrade: Members can upgrade categories subject to fulfilling eligibility, document verification, and fee adjustments.

7. Code of Conduct, Suspension & Termination

Zero-Tolerance Ethics Policy

Members must practice responsible journalism. Hate speech, paid fake news, blackmail, extortion, plagiarism, and criminal misconduct will result in immediate suspension, termination of credentials, and statutory legal reporting.

Disciplinary Action: Membership may be suspended or terminated for fraudulent documents, repeated misconduct, misuse of association identity, or conviction involving moral turpitude.

8. Legal Support Policy & Press ID Rules

Legal Cell Support: When an active member faces wrongful harassment directly related to bona fide news reporting, the Legal Cell may provide preliminary legal advice, documentation assistance, and advocate referral based on case merit.

Press ID Clarification: The Press ID card is strictly for organizational identity within the DMJCCA network. It does not represent government accreditation or police authority. Any misuse will result in instant cancellation.

9. Appeals, Privacy, Refund & Benefits

  • Appeals: Aggrieved members may file an appeal within 30 days to the National Membership Committee.
  • Privacy & Data: Personal details remain protected and will not be disclosed except for official association records or legal compliance.
  • Refund Policy: Membership fees are non-refundable, except in cases of verified duplicate billing or administrative error approved by the NEC.
  • Benefits: Access to digital ID card, certificate, national networking, workshops, brand collaborations, and career opportunities.

Chapter 25

10. General Rules & Mandatory Declaration

  • Membership is a privilege and does not establish an employer-employee relationship.
  • These rules are interpreted in conjunction with the National Constitution and Bylaws.
  • The National Executive Council reserves the right to amend these provisions as required.

Mandatory Applicant Declaration:

“I certify that the information provided by me is true and correct. I have read and understood the Constitution, Membership Rules, Code of Ethics, Privacy Policy, and Terms & Conditions of DMJCCA. I agree to abide by all applicable rules, regulations, and decisions of the Association. I understand that my membership may be suspended or terminated for violation of these provisions.”
